SC5400 is the scanning program delivered as an option. SC5400 scanning program is intended to wavelength scanning on a PC under Windows operating system along with spectrophotometers PE-5400VI and PE-5400UV.

SC5400 provides for control of the spectrophotometer, enables scanning of absorbancy or transmittance of the samples by the wavelength within the wavelength range to be specified with the specified scanning pitch, finding of the peaks on the spectra obtained, saving and loading of the table of peaks and table of scanning results as well as printing of the calibration reports.

The program is protected by means of the Guardant Sign hardware key included in the scope of delivery. Without using the key, the program works in the reduced functionality mode (demo mode).

Application domain:
SC5400 scanning program is used for scientific purposes during quantitative tests of carboxyhemoglobin in blood and muscles. 
 

Hardware requirements:
IBM – PC with Windows operating system (Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7)
Video card with screen resolution not less than 1024x768 at bit specification 16 bit or more (rather for screen resolution 1280x1024)
2 USB ports 1.1 or 2.0 (for instrument and hardware key)
Not less than 10MB of free disk space

Scanning:
Scanning of absorbancy of sample by the wavelength within the wavelength range with the specified scanning pitch (1-10 nm)

Finding of the peaks:
The program has the algorithm of finding of peaks on the spectra – maxima of absorbancy or minima of transmission depending on selected mode of spectrum display. The algorithm is effective only with relatively straight spectra. The program has the possibility of manual editing of the table by means of removal and adding of the peaks.

 
Printing of the reports:
The program has the possibility of printing of the reports of spectrum reading and finding of the peaks.

Saving and loading:
The program has the possibility of saving the spectrum. Hereafter it can be loaded from file and used for finding of the peaks, conducting of measurements and printing of the reports.

Export:
The given possibility is intended for saving of the table with spectrum data or the table with peaks in Microsoft Excel.
